Although after 5+ mins they can use the forums
and yes all of the proper settings for forum permissions are chosen
EDIT:they can't view the post either

Are they in the awaiting activation usergroup....?? And are you sure all the permissions are correct, even when you click Edit Permissions/Set Permissions when you're editing permissions in the forum settings??

I have it set down as instant activation

Yes
Everyone but the BANNED group can view forums/specific forums and after 5+mins the w warning disapprears

Can you post the procedure to reproduce this? What are they supposed to see?

Not sure Mybb supports MKportal installs.
