Hi there,

I've just installed MyBB to my webhost, it's a totally brand new clean install,
i've never used it before. The version is, as far as I can tell 1.4.5? (the
file the files came from was mybb_1405.zip).

Basically, I uploaded, installed, chmodded etc all fine - and it said it had
installed all fine too.
But when I came to goto the forums- Link: http://omglol.netii.net/forum/
It came up with the language english not being installed message.

Language english (/home/a9505291/public_html/forum/inc/languages/english) is not installed

I have checked the folder and it has 2 files and folder inside.
english (dir)
english.php
index.html
(full english dir listing at bottom of thread)

It shows this error when I try to access forum/admin also.

I have re-uploaded this file and also re-installed the whole thing once,
after that didn't work, just to make sure nothing had been missed in the
install.

So if anyone is able to help, would be very appreciative, thanks.

Pete

Check that ./inc/languages/, ./inc/languages/english/, and ./inc/languages/english/admin/ is CHMOD to 755, and that all the languages files themselves are 644.
yup that definitely fixes it.... (I had EXACTLY the same problem.)
Thanks dude.....
I wasted hours trying to find what the problem was......

Thanks. That worked! The instructions said something different. Now I can build my new forum Smile
The instructions say it's optional to CHMOD the language files to 666, but that won't cause this error.
