Can I import the backup database from version 1.2 into the new 1.4 version?

We had a server fail. Luckily I have backups, but I installed the new 1.4 version and my database is from the previous 1.2 version.
I thought I might ask before corrupting something and having to start over.

Yep, if you've installed 1.4, go into phpMyAdmin and drop all the tables, permanently removing them (they should all be empty if it's a new installation), then import your backup, and then go to yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php, choose your old version of 1.2 from the list, and run through the wizard.

The only issue I may come across is that the instructions said to remove the install folder after completing installation, I may have to replace that.

Yeah you'll need the one that cam with the version of 1.4 you uploaded initially.
