This happens when the host name in the inc/config.php is wrong. Open inc/config.php and check that $config['database']['hostname'] is correct. If you don't know what is supposed to be there contact your host.
It could be your host, but I am not saying that is it but it happened to me before.
If it worked and suddenly it stopped working without touching anything, must be your host.
Jacob, knowing who their host is will not help this issue in any way whatsoever.
If his site is talkmusicforums.com then it is working now.
