My college have asked whether there is a function where mybb can only allow one college to access a forum.
For example at our college we all have a username and password given to us- and my principle wants to know if mybb can create a forum where these usernames and passwords can be interlinked so only our college students can use it?

i was wondering is there a way to block just one ip address from registering on the site but allowing them to see threads as a guest etc..??

There isn't really an easy way to block just one IP address, but allow them to view it as a guest. If it's a static IP address, then it is possible - if it's dynamic, you pretty much have no chance.

I'm guessing your college uses Active Directory as part of Windows - in this case, LDAP integration hasn't been practically possible yet. So the answer would be no...
