It's because you have some sort of image behind the usernames that probably just failed to load properly...
ive encountered to white images inside in my forum appear like that.. even in my signature and avatar too..

From the screen shot it looks like firefox.
I think the version is more relevant - the Firefox beta might have some bugs, etc.
I took a look at the site and it looks like those background images are hosted on tinypic.com. Perhaps you could try uploading to your FTP and then changing the background URLs to your own server.
i am using.. latest version. ahm,
