And how do I add a new font to the font menu?

Admin Panel->Templates and Style
Select Mybb Default (or the theme you are using),click global.css and edit Font Family and Font size to whatever you want

If you are sure of you are going to do then: you can change the default font of your forum by editing the theme which you are using:
Admin CP -> Themes (your theme) -> options -> Edit Theme -> Stylesheets -> global.css -> Edit Style -> Body -> Font Family
Or you can define a specific font for each section there.
To add a new font to the font menu of the editor:
Edit the file: ./jscripts/editor.js
Always backup your files before meddling with them.
