So my dummy self accidentally deleted my forum.

I have all the files backed up on my laptop, but I don't remember if I backed them up using the feature on the MyBB Control Panel.

I've been browsing through the the help forum here and have seen a few things about PhpMyAdmin and something about DumpFiles. But this is all a different language to me.

If it is still possible for me to restore my forum using the files on my laptop and if someone could help me by telling me somewhat step by step I would be forever grateful and indebted to you.

Do you have any database backups?

There's nothing in the MyBB ACP to backup your files, only your database... have you just deleted your files?? If you have, and your database is still OK, there's nothing to worry about, you can just reupload the files and it should be OK. If you deleted the database, you'll have to have a backup of the database (which could have been done via the MyBB ACP).
