Hi, my forum's been working fine since I installed it last week, but today I have been having problems logging in and out of my board Sad

I tried to log out earlier and it said I was logged out and took ages to redirect (it didn't redirect at all) then it said I was still logged in. I then deleted my cookies in case that was the problem and it won't let me log in either it does the same thing Sad I read the thread about this, but I can't log in to get to the admincp to check the cookie settings and I didn''t understand the rest of the instructions. Does anyone know what I should do?
As it clearly says in that thread, there is literally nothing we can tell you without knowing your URL.
You can edit the cookie settings in /inc/settings.php. You just download the file open it up, but I heard don't open it with notepad. Find $settings['cookiedomain'] = ".examle.com";
Make sure it is correct.
oops sorry forgot the url

www.koolkats.co.nr

and thanks, I'll check that now Smile
OK, this is happening because your site is in an iframe, your actual URL is http://koolkats.1sthoster.com/Upload/

You need to find a way to get it out of the iframe, having a forum in an iframe causes many problems, this is one of them.
sorry lol but what's an iframe? and thanks for your reply Smile

EDIT: and I've just checked the settings file and the cookie domain seems to be correct Sad
Yes, but the settings are for http://koolkats.1sthoster.com/Upload which is where your forum actually is, but you're using http://www.koolkats.co.nr which is like a mask, it isn't the real URL, and it causes problems. If you login using the linger URL it'll log you in fine.
oh ok thanks Smile so if I give other people the shorter domain will they have problems logging in too?

EDIT: I just tried logging in from the longer domain and the same thing's still happening except it is redirecting me now just not logging me in Sad
I guess, it's been a while since I used a .co.nr, I can't remember how it's setup, but I think it's basically a redirect that always shows the .co.nr domain in the browser's address bar... you can use the longer domain for now, but maybe look at getting a co.cc domain if you need a free one, people have had better success with that one.
thanks Smile but I'm still having trouble logging in from the longer domain Sad
