Hi all,

I was thinking what should be added into next version of mybb.

So I suggest to add looking at each post. Like in vB. (I don't know how explain it - I would give an example).

We have got a thread:
http://www.uglybassplayer.com/forum/show...post169739

And we can look at specifics posts for example:

http://www.uglybassplayer.com/forum/show...ostcount=5

It will help us to have bigger amount of pages indexed in google.
Hi,

The problem with this feature suggestion would be that it also counts as content duplication and Google penalises for this - this is the main reason why we haven't added such a feature (and purely because in most circumstances when you visit that page, you'll visit the post, read it and most likely head off tot he entire thread).

Chris is wise. Smile
Won't adding a canonical meta tag to the header prevent duplicate content on search engines? If so is this being considered?

'Canonical meta tags' was 'considered' for MyBB 1.6, however it probably won't be considered further until 2.0.

However, we won't be adding a 'single' post view for the reasons Chris specified.
I really hate single post view. It removes any context from the post you're viewing.
The closest you can get is this kind of single post view. All you'd have to do is a direct link for it, which you can easily do in a plugin.

Content duplication as mentioned by Chris is already there. As are plugins that add canonical etc.
"Mybb SEO" plugin by frostschutz ads "canonical" to thread then you can promote single posts with this plugin http://mods.mybboard.net/view/post-url-inlinemod
