This mod will show a message to the guests and to the lurkers as well. i.e. those members that like to hang around your forum but never post.

Hopefully this will encourage the guests to register and the lurkers to become active.

If you want to show the message in another language than english, than you can change the language strings in guestsandlurkermessage.lang file.

To see how the mod looks like in action, please have a look at the attached screen-shots.



How to install the mod:

Log in to your ftp program and copy the inc folder inside the mod package to the root folder of your forum preserving the structure.
i.e. the guestsandlurkermessage.php file should be uploaded in: /inc/plugins folder and the guestsandlurkermessage.lang.php folder to: /inc/languages/english
And as last but not least, activate the plug in from the Acp of your forum-Configuration-Plugins.

I haven't looked at the code yet but is it possible to modify it to match my forum width (1024px) and change the background to a solid and eye-catching color?

Yes, of course. You can create your own class or id in the style css file and then call that instead of the thead class that I have used.

Can you post a link to your forum btw? So I can see the width?
