A site user under 13 years of age has registered on my site, and her father is a member there and approves of her having an account on the site. When I pull her account user name up in the admin control panel, it says:

Warning: This user is awaiting COPPA validation. Activate Account

When I click on the Activate Account link, I then get the message:

You have selected an invalid user.

So, what am I missing? What do I have to do to make her account work?

I am using MyBB version 1.4.6

Hmmmm sound like an issue in the user update part. Check your database to make sure the user is still showing as the COPPA usergroup id. If so then you could activate it through phpMyAdmin or we can just figure out the reason behind your little error.
