I just upgrade to 1.4.8 using the files from here (I'm sure they're the 1.4.8 files the folder says mybb_1408 and everything) but on the upgrade completed screen it says I upgraded to 1.4.6 (my previous version) and in the admin area it still says I'm using 1.4.6 and need to upgrade to 1.4.8...

The only real explanation is that you didn't upload all the files, the version number is taken from ./inc/class_core.php, so if they hasn't been updated, the version number won't be updated either.

I figured it out, I uploaded the files from the inc directory to the root directory...
