Ok here are the steps I used

downloaded newest package
unzipped it (2 directories Documentation and Upload)
made directory under public_html called forum (755)
copied files over (using ascii mode)
made chmod changes as per the instructions

as per instructions went to myurl.com/forum/install/

"File not found"

well there was no install directory in the package so it makes sense it can't find one.

What file actually runs the install?

URL of your forum?

If your upgrading you only need changed files but, if your installing a new forum u'll need to download the whole package and you run the install from that, which one did you install?

Hello, this is what happend to me, you know how the files are in /forum, are the in the another folder called upload? Because the files in upload have to be in forum. Or you would put yoururl.co.uk/forum/upload/install, which doesnt seem to install it but yeah the install files is in the upload folder so put it in forum and then do it, you directory should be, public_html - Forum - the files of the folder called upload, Here is how the directory on mine is set out http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2407/directory.jpg
