I never had this happen to me before, so I'm sure what he cause is.

The owner uploaded all the files the server, ran the installation and entered the correct database informtion and it won't intall.


* Could not connect to the database server at 'localhost' with the supplied username and password. Are you sure the hostname and user details are correct?

He said everything is correct.


This is the latest mybb.

Are you sure you have set the right dbtype?
Are you also sure that it is the right SQL database host as they are sometimes different to the HTTP server.

He said everything is correct, and the same info worked for SMF

Yeah, he had someone from the host do it. Out of all the times I installed MyBB, I never had a problem.
