Anyone giving you 5GB space and 50GB bandwidth for $5 US is overselling.
just as a comparison, my site uses 700MB of space and 30GB of bandwidth
and i pay $12.50 a month

If you're paying less than $10/month and getting more than 1GB of disk space, they are overselling. I've never encountered a hosting company NOT oversell their shared hosting plans.
KuJoe is right but well honestly I don't call out hosts overselling in less it's extreme like hostgator or bluehost.
