I tried searching but didn't find a solution to my specific question. I am hoping to find a way to hide a category from guests and members. I've set up an admin area for discussions between staff; one forum is for admins and one also includes moderators. I've managed to shut members/guests out by using the permission settings, but they still can see that the category/forums exist, plus they can see the title of the latest topic posted. I want the category completely hidden, please.
Set "can view forum" to no.
I've done that, to no avail. :/
Edit: Unless you mean members general settings? Would that override the settings for the individual forums if I put those to viewable?
Edit 2: Yeah, general guest permissions hides the board completely.
I've found a temp way to hide things; I've put the admin and moderator forums as sub forums inside an administration forum inside the admin category:
Admin
|___ Administration area
|________ Admin forum
|________ Moderator forum
- and this at least hides the titles of the topics, but the Admin category is still visible.
If you PM me an admin account and password I can check it out for you
