I am looking for a way to change the times threads were posted so I can change the announcements in the portal to match my wordpress. How can I do this?

In your mybb_threads table there is a field for when they are posted. The dates and times are in a UNIX timestamp format though. So you can use something like this: http://www.4webhelp.net/us/timestamp.php to make dates and times into a timestamp.
