If your a subscriber on MyBB Central im thinking you can, but otherwise you have to wait till hes no longer on 'break'
It does work for subscribers (Or so I've been told by a few others and experienced myself), just to re-enforce what Lyndon said. If you don't have access or get an error, afaik, you're not a subscriber.
