Hi,
My captcha has a black background.
My general forums has no problem but in local forum captcha is not readable:

MyBB version: 1.4.8 (All files replaced with last official release)
PHP version: 5.2
GD version: 2.2

I checked all files and settings again but this odd problem yet remained. :'(

It is not a common problem!
1. If you compiled php yourself?
2. Did you check permission of mybb files and directories?!

For the record, PHP is not a compiled language, therefore you do not compile it at all, it is interpreted.

1. no. but i have full access to make any changes if it is necessary.
2. yes i checked all permissions.

Well it works so thats one thing. AFAIK this would be a problem with your GD and not MyBB.

Also why would you need to be using the captcha on local as normal users can't access that to register anyway...

Reupload the ./inc/captcha_fonts/ folder and it's contents in binary mode.
