It is possible but you need the original theme author's permission to do it.

What theme do you want ported? And do you have permission..
Pretty much anyone who knows HTML and CSS could port the vast majority of every bulletin board's themes.
As to why anyone would do that, though, I still can't fathom. You're most likely going to piss people off if MyBB can look exactly the same as IPB or vBulletin, with the same features.

Well you can make any forum look however you want. It may not always be easy but you could make IPB look like MyBB if you wanted.
Haha, I totally agree, I like each individual software's spin on the look. Just stating the facts, though.
