Hey guys,

Basically anything I send from my AdminCP goes into user's trash inbox.

This is very annoying especially when they register as most cant activate. What can I do to stop this?

I use a proper email address from trusted sites (@hotmail.com)

I think this is a problem with how the email people treat your domain, as opposed to trusted email domains being used... with me, some emails go to my hotmail inbox, some go to trash, even if they're both activation emails. If I remember correctly they need to do something to make your domain a trusted address so it doesn't get caught by their spam filters.
