No matter what I enter, I get 'No results were found'...

That's what I get when I entered "the" (without quotations)

search for "test" and it should work
"the" is too short probably

Ah, I see. Cause earlier I entered 'ads' and it didn't work.

I suggest that instead of saying 'not found' it should say 'too little characters' or something, cause it's very confusing.

Search Google for something like this:
site:mods.mybboard.net ads

That will search only pages within mods.mybboard.net for the word "ads".

Well the error message should still be changed.

I'm not disagreeing with that - just offering some alternate ways in the meantime. =]
