I think this is a 2.0 feature.
No, as well I see no point in adding it. If your to lazy to leave your site for plugins your probably the person that doesn't check version compatibility.

Same can be said for auto-updating, which is being added in 2.0.
Ya, but that updates thre core which should be done no matter what. I don't know I just think we'll end up with what's happening with hot editor every week. Someone will come on and not read a single post that says it doesn't work with the latest mybb.
