Full Version: "import theme" tab returns 403 error

Hey all,

Out board (currently powered by phpBB3) is considering converting to myBB. Before converting we thought we'd install myBB and have a poke around, just to get comfortable with everything before making the move.

However, once installed it returns a 403 error when trying to access certain areas of the ACP. For example the "import a theme" tab, "create new theme" tab...actually in fact this happens when you click anything in the ACP except the main links on the grey bar at the top.

Is this likely to be down to the host?

Installation: Fresh (MyBB 1.4)
Test User: Admin Access available by PM request.

Thanks in advance Smile

Best of luck. Smile
It's because you're running on a free forum host, I believe. If you switched to an actual host as opposed to a site such as ForumPromotion, you wouldn't get those errors.

If you're looking for a free host, try www.byethost.com.

Bingo! Renaming the htaccess.txt to .htaccess hit the spot. Thanks very much! Smile

@blh654: Not sure where you think we're on a free host from. We've been using Paid Hosting for years Wink

Thanks again Ryan Big Grin
I think blh654 thought that forumpromotion.net was a free host.

Glad that I could be of assistance.
