Hi,

I am probably missing something really simple here, but I can't figure it out.

If I have a e-zine in PDF format, that I want to upload into my directory, how do I create a link that I can post in the forum for members to download the ezine?

Cheers

DoN
I have no idea what Ezine is but w/e. Toungue Here try this depends how you want to do it. If on the index you want to advertise it like mybb does, look in the tuts section, and copy matts tut. Do it on yours and link it with an hyperlink. If you want to do it easy and make an anouncement, just upload the file, and fine its link. For example say your site is, nagash.net. and the pdf file is hiwhatsup.pdf. once your upload it, the link will be www.nagash.net/hiwhatsup.pdf. Still i have no idea what ezine is.
Its an online magazine.

I've tried as you suggested. I created folder entitled pdfs in the root folder, then uploaded it into there.

But when I type in the address in the format you advise it comes up with an error?
Where did you drop it? In public_html? Also make sure it is CHMOD'd to 700. First then try. If that doesn't work Pm/Post me a URL. Then i can try to assist you better.
Where is the public_html located? Unfortunately I have only recently inherited this site and I am still very new at this!
How to explain...

Do you have complete root access? If so when you log on, you have a bunch of choices. Public_html, WWW Cpanel data etc etc etc etc etc A screen shot would help alot to see if you have root. Also the check to make sure it is: http://www.nagash.net/hiwhatsup.pdf not http://www.nagash.net/HiWhatSup.pdf. Caps do matter.
Ok, here is screenshot for you:

So I would assume that the download link would be http://www.vampirecounts.net/pdfs/invocation#2.net. But that comes up with:

Page not found

The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

In regards to the permissions. I have tried repeatedly changing it to 700 as you said by right clicking and then choosing permissions on the Invocation PDF, but for some reason it won't save. When I go back into it the permissions have reverted.

Any ideas?
Did you try to rename the file without #?

invocation2.pdf

So, the url:
http://www.vampirecounts.net/pdfs/invocation2.pdf
It worked!

As my first post on this forum I have got to say you have both been very helpful. I really appreciate it.

Thank you very much.
And don't forget to create index.html to the folder.
It will prevent an error message if your visitor access url:

http://www.vampirecounts.net/pdfs/
