Is there a way to set more meta tags that the googlebot searches/reads?
This would make certain sites appear higher in the search list :p
Also, i've only seen googlebot scouring my site, there's no others active even though they're set up..Any reason why?

Have you manually submitted your site to the other big search engines (Bing, Yahoo etc)?? They should come a bit quicker if you add your site yourself.
As for meta tags, apparently they don't really use keyword tags anymore, so a description should be fine, the Google SEO plugin could also help, but the main thing is just good content. You can out in all the meta tags you want but if the pages aren't full of stuff people are searching for, it won't really make a difference.

Nope, there's just a form to fill out with your URL and sometimes a description.

Can't find the Yahoo one now.
One think I would advice not to do is give your URL to one of those sites that says it'll submit it to hundreds of search engines for you... there's no point, people only really use Google, Bing and Yahoo, and you get a lot of spammy emails after sing those services.
