my forum has been getting lots and lots of spam bots, seems like from India, lately.
at least 3-4 a day. its very annoying.
is there a way to disable registration to a particular IP range? or any other way around it.

these are mostly all bots. and they post stupid stuff all over the forum too. ught!

You can ban IPs by going to ACP > Configuration > Banning, you can use a wildcard like 127.0.0.* to block a range.
You can also add a sort of verification to the registration, I forget what it's called, but it stops adbots. The one where you have to type in the warped letters.
Even that doesn't stop them sometimes.

You mean reCaptcha 2 but it doesn't help much. Bots these days bypass these protections fairly easily I'm afraid...
Yeah Captcha can only do so much, if a human registers and then sets up a bot to spam, not much you can do about it apart from ban them.
I use this mod "Extra Safety Check While Registering" by lex.
Haven't had a single spam post, my questions are custom that only people involved with my boards topic would know and it seems to keep them away.
