I've had this problem for too long now, and it's starting to bug me.

basically, if I try to view or use the Avatar Gallery at all, it comes up with this error:

If you know the problem and think you know how to fix it, let me know. I seriously don't know what the problem is :/

Go to ACP > Configuration > in the settings search box type 'avatar', find the setting for the avatar directory, what's this set to??

it's set to "/images/avatars"

EDIT: fixed it by getting rid of the / at the start. thanks for that
