I guess that would depend on host i have done it at home between pc and laptop using phpmyadmin with .sql.gz i even back it up to godaddy and had to use the Plain Text option in the acp when backing up cause godaddy uses and old verion of phpmyadmin so i could on do it in txt
so it all worked well for me but thats why i said it might depend on host there probly are better ways to do it this is how i did it and worked
