I am confused i looked around and could not find anything so i want to upgrade to mybb i just uploaded all the files and everything (so i just installed mybb) and i don't even know where to start. Yes you may have seen my posts earlier the funny thing is i have never actually upgraded a mybb board. Any help appreciated
First you need to delete this file called
lock
It's locate to
/install
And then go with Upgrade first remember BACKUP your database

Easy steps :
1 - Make your board offline.
2 - Disable any installed & activated plugins.
3 - Take a full backup of your files along with mysqls.
4 - Upload the new version files and replace them with your old ones.
5 - Run the upgrade initial through yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php
6 - Put a lock file into your install directory or just delete it.
7 - Reactivate your plugins and set board online again.
Hang on guys, before we say to run the upgrade script, we need to know what version he's upgrading from, may not be necessary
