hello there
I'm running a Yabbse 1.5.5 board
and I wanna convert it to anything
I tried to convert it to IPB, it worked but I had 2 prob, it's showing me that I have 0 posts and 1 registered users, infact I have 3000posts and 110 users, everything was restored exept the count number of the members and the posts
so plz if there is a convertor from Yabbse to Mybb
or from IPB to mybb
plz help me!
I'm afraid there are currently no such converters available.
Can you please send me a database structure of Yabb SE, with some inserts (obviously not all - and you cant edit out private information and stuff) so I can look at creating a converter.
Email it to: contact at mybboard dot com
Thanks
email sent!
hope u'll figure it out!
Hai
I think a lot of YaBB SE forum owners would like to see a convertor since the developpment of YaBB SE was stopped. I'm also looking for an alternative for YaBB SE 1.54 SuperMod and myBBoard looks very prommising. But to lose all the posts and to let al the members re-register....
So I' hope you'll be able to make a convertor.
grtz Frans

Database structure? Bad luck

yabb is a perl-based forum that stores its data in the file system. Might be a little harder than the other mainstream boards.

Although YaBB is a perl based board, I thought YaBB SE was PHP/MySQL based.

Thats correct YaBB SE is PHP and MySQL based. That was also one of the reasons I'm looking at MyBB as a replacement for my YaBB SE forum. and to be honest the other free options are not as good as this one except perhaps for the conversion part. But I've time enough before I have to switch.
