I'm wanting to create a new forum that has the same layout of my old forum.

I was thinking of doing a mysqldump of the old database and restoring it to the new database.

Than I would have to delete everything to do with the old members from this new database (posts, private messages etc).

Would this be the best way to go?
hey there

well in case u want to stop ur old forum ok, but in case u want to keep it running!! u should just export > import the old database.
and then clear the mybb_users

but i'm not sure to whom the posts will be designated, as u intend only to delete the members, whitout their posts!! but in case u want to delete also the posts !! then ok .

regards
If you just want to keep the theme, just backup and restore mybb_themes and mybb_templates.

Would it be possible to have the second forum connect to the first forum's database and share the them tables directly.
