how can we make a mailing list like the very professioanl one here

Yes your right, Chris does work for them i'm pretty sure.

We use Interspire Email Marketer, and yes Chris does work for Interspire.

I would suggest looking at HotScripts as they have listings of mailing list software both paid and free.
