The RSS is instant as far as I know and the read is based upon the client. So it's dependent on the rss reader you use.

The problem is that I'm only seeing entries in the RSS feed for the first item of any given thread. Subsequent replies aren't appearing in the RSS feed at all, as far as I can tell (and I'm looking at the raw feed, not depending on a news reader). Thanks.
