Just trying out myBB on localsever

1. I am surprised we are not able configure how titles could be shown on showthread.
So the titles on thread pages should show something like this
Board Name - Thread Title
2. Why does the default install does not have any meta keyword and meta description. Well it looks a pretty much basic feature every board should have.

Would appreciate any kind of help regarding the above issues.

1. ACP > Templates & Style > Templates > **expand template set** > Show Thread Templates > showthread > add {$mybb->settings['bburl']} to the title tag.

2. Keywords aren't really used these days, you can use this plugin to have dynamic descriptions to forums and threads: http://mods.mybboard.net/view/google-seo

If you really want SEO it's the best option you have. The core edits are pretty simple.

Normally I wouldn't recommend core file edits but this plugin is great, it does a lot, and I think a core file edit was the only way of doing it. Plus the modified version of functions.php is provided for you by the author shortly after a new version of MyBB is released so you probably wouldn't need to edit it yourself anyway. As NetSage said, this is the best SEO plugin for MyBB and also has the best sitemap generator too.

I went ahead with your suggestions and it looks good so far. Great plugin indeed. Does a hell lot of job except that fact the I am not very happy with the how the meta descriptions are created.
