Fluid is good because then if you have a small browser, there's no horizontal scrolling, but at the same time, there isn't too much blank space in large resolutions. However, you can't really make good graphics and themes with fluidity. Advanced themes are fixed almost all the time.

Not true all of the time, places like extremepixels and transversestyles make all there skins in fluid and fixed, they seem pretty "good" to me!

Fluid themes just involve more images, usually.
