What i meen is i want it so the container is not as wide as the thead boxes

Then, you can add some padding to the container if you want it to be bigger than the tables. Or you can try to add some margin to the .content (but also to the .copyright, and any other class you want to have less width than the container).

If it's for a MyBB theme with the default structure, what I posted should do the trick.

container has 20px padding by default...go into admincp and make it zero for the theme
