I see that I can backup the DB of the board, I assume this is the database that is on the SQL server? If so how can I put that back in if something happens since I don't see a restore? Do I restore from the SQL server or am I completely off on this? Thanks

Yep, in your host control panel there should be a link to something called phpMyAdmin somewhere, this is where you import a backup.
