I tried to upgrade with the MyBB 1.00 upgrade but I get that warning:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: databaseengine in /home/services/public_html/forums/inc/init.php on line 40
How do I fix this?

I uploaded the files in cPanel to their directories and overwrote the existing ones.
There was no instructions in the upgrade directory that I downloaded.
please, download the package from mybboard.com and upload all the files except ./inc/config.php ./inc/settings.php along to the images directory.
there should be no error if u upload them all correctley.
u may tell us also what version u were using

So, if I upload those files you mentioned, it will fix it?
Also what do you mean by "along to the images directory"
i mean dont upload the images directory as u need your theme to be the same.
try to upgrade your board again, by uploading all the files except ./inc/config.php ./inc/settings.php , and then run ./install/upgrade.php.
and hope that will go smoothly

well in order to upgrade your board efficientaly and clean, u should do that.
you can't choose somefiles to upload, they must be all.
