When activating/deactivating plugins, do they remember any state they have?
Or does it depend on the plugin?
I just moved a mybb 1.4.8 site to new hosting - hostgator - got the mod_security whitelisting done for the admin panel - using the instructions at:

that says to deactivate all plugins.
The site isn't the same after I reactivate all the plugins (a couple of dozen different ones). The custom portal code/theme is gone.

The status of them is cached so the status should transfer, it isn't essential to deactivate them when changing hosts; I personally never do. Have you tried deactivating/activating the plugins again??

Yes - tried re-reactivating them but the state is gone.
We are trying to reload the entire site from a backup.
It would help others if the instructions to deactivate the plugins had a big caveat up front so you don't have to read the entire thread.
