Ok, I've been out of this business for a few months now (Few? XD). I do remember that when I was still very active here, I began working on the .htaccess file. Well, I have since forgotten all of that =/ So, I was wondering if it was possible to have the Google SEO plugin for my forums rename the forums and subforums by their name, like the plugin already does, except for a few that I wanted renamed something else?

If that doesn't make sense, I'm wanting something like this:

Forum Name - Link

News - http://domain.com/forums/News
Yugioh TCG - http://domain.com/forums/Yugioh-TCG
General - http://domain.com/forums/General

AND

The Duel Academy - http://domain.com/academy

Notice that the first three were the exact name with "-" replacing the spaces, and the one I want changed is titled something different than the name in the link.

Possible? If so, please help? =D Thanks
It's not possible, unless you modify the plugin of course. The plugin already has code that changes item names (for example when doing character translation), you could add your own bit of code there that renames specific items. However you'll have a hard time keeping this change alive with every new version of the plugin...

I can't promise you anything, but a future version of Google SEO may contain word filters, since some people want to get rid of small words (or, and, ...) or tags ([NEW], [FOOBAR], ...) in URLs. The downside of such features is that each filter makes creating and verifying and updating URLs more expensive...
Thank you very much =)

What if I didn't use that part of the plugin and just manually renamed them, would it be possible then?
Manually rename them, how?

Even if you change the URL name for an item in the google_seo table, Google SEO will just think that the forum was renamed in the meantime and update the entry the next time the item is accessed. So if you change it in the database, Google SEO will just change it back.

The only way to get the academy only URL without modification to the Google SEO plugin is to actually name the forum academy only, and not duelacademy.
Thank you for the info =)
