Near the top of the index page it says

"Welcome back, {Username}."

Is there a way to make the username bit look exactly how it looks on the forums. So lets say the users text is red, then it would say {Username} in red.

It'll need PHP which you can't use in templates without the PHP in templates plugin or a plugin specifically to do this.
