This will be my first myBB forums. I started a few years ago with a PhpBB 2.xx forum (ughh!) and migrated to a better and faster but feature-barren PunBB forum. I considered SMF but being two years late on an upgrade was not only frustrating, it did not give me any confidence. After doing more research, I decided MyBB was clearly the best choice for me.

Since the Las Vegas valley has a 25% Latino population and a growing Chinese community, I wanted to make sure that any future forum would be able to be multilingual. Unfortunately, myBB is not quite there yet. The cookies for profile language preference don't seem to be persistent in rendering pages in alternate languages. I tried to hack my way through my default style's templates to append

?language={mybb->settings['bblanguage']}

to links and forms but it is hard to track down all the right hooks.

I had a major problem when half of my styles suddenly failed, possibly after I moved the myBB URL from http://XYZ.com/mybb to http://forum.XYZ.com. I think I somehow corrupted or lost my myBB Master Style which effected most but not all of the several modified styles I have.

After trying lots of things, I gave up on fixing this problem, especially since I do not seem to be able to import styles that I exported. (I hate ACP error messages that don't suggest the nature of the problem or suggestions for fixing things.)

I will keep these first forums as a "demo and copy playground" and reinstall another copy of myBB to a new directory (starting from scratch again.)

Your site is down. Is it just me?

I like the theme matches the theme of the site well. Its striped like mine xD
