Hmm... if he still doesn't know how to do the query, why not just remove him as a Super Admin then until he's switched back in by 1 of the other staff?

Because then you've got to add yourself back as a super admin again so you can't be edited/deleted/banned, and you've got to wait until another admin is online to change you back, it's an unnecessarily long-winded way of doing, and they could delete your account if they were so inclined. A lot of the times people edit config.php something else goes wrong after, usually the 'Headers already sent by' error, and it's better to use phpMyAdmin to get used to using it, it's something all forum admins should be relatively familiar with at some stage.

That's my advice.
