I did a fairly thorough search and found no answers so here we go:
OK the subject is misleading but I don't know any other way to say it. I'm trying to edit this text: "You cannot use the private messaging functionality as it has been disabled by the Administrator." The path shows http://lakecountylandlords.com/forum/private.php and I can find that line of text in the page source but when I try to actually locate it in private.php, it's not there. Where do they hide this text and other similar lines of text?
This is a new installation of version 1.4.9

Just so there's no misunderstanding, I disabled PM's for everyone so that's not the problem. I just want to be able to change the wording slightly in that message.
