I'm not sure why it hasn't been implemented as of yet but shouldn't there be an option to use table prefixes? not everyone has the privilege of assigning a database to each use of mysql, and the table names are fairly generic. as of yet i haven't had any experience of conflict (mainly because other uses of mysql tend to use prefixes) but i would imagine it will have caused problems somewhere. it also makes it easier to browse a table list if a common prefix groups all the mybb tables together

Table prefixes have been implemented in RC4, according to one of surfi's threads. I dunno where the thread is but I'm positive he said they are implemented

Yes, table prefixes are definately included in RC4.
