What about sub domains? Like if I were to get some CXR.cc clients to have a link to your site on the footer of all of their pages? Would they count as only 1?

No that won't count. It's one per domain. So 50 subdomains are still one domain.

Ok thanks for clarifying, I don't know how many clients would actually opt to upgrade their account for a link placed in the footer anyways.
