when I ran it it said that at top ... I have now found a newer one that is mybb_merge_beta5 I uploaded and ran it but it still has the same effect

What are you running?? You just need to extract the loginconvert.php plugin from the zip, upload it over the current version of the file in your ./inc/plugins/ folder, that's it, then try logging in again, you don't need to run anything...
