Hi, new here so be gentle

Anyway, I would really like to add a few more functions to the reply box. In fact, exactly the one that I am using now to write this.

At the moment we have things like, Insert Image and Insert Hyperlink etc. but I would also like to add a few more such as Insert Youtube etc.

Is this possible and how would I go about it?

Well i know you have to edit a core file. I there is a tut around for it. I know it needs an edit to editor.js, and everytime you update that file, you lose it...
